Opposition injury latest as Newcastle United summer signing goalkeeper set for surgery following international break injury

Newcastle United goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen faces several weeks on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury on international duty with France Under-21s. The summer signing requires surgery following an MRI scan, ruling him out of Newcastle's upcoming trip to Coventry City and several other fixtures this autumn.
With Jaouen sidelined, Nick Pope is expected to serve as backup to first-choice goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek. Newcastle are also dealing with several other injury concerns, as Anthony Elanga, William Osula, Dan Burn, Jacob Ramsey, and Tino Livramento could all miss the match against Coventry.
