UFC middleweight Brendan Allen has spoken about financial concerns related to why he doesn’t want to wait for a fight.

UFC middleweight Brendan Allen revealed he accepted a bout against lower-ranked prospect Christian Leroy Duncan due to financial necessities rather than waiting for higher-ranked contenders. Speaking at the UFC Fight Night 290 media day, Allen explained that he lacks the sponsorship revenue required to comfortably sit out and wait for preferred opponents.
Allen noted that while he prefers to fight higher-ranked competitors on his timeline, he prioritizes staying active over extended layoffs. Heading into the five-round matchup riding a three-fight winning streak, Allen praised Duncan's talent but emphasized the major step up in competition Duncan faces.
