‘De Zerbi doesn’t have the credentials to turn things around at Tottenham’ – Charlie Austin

Former Premier League striker Charlie Austin has questioned Roberto De Zerbi's managerial credentials following Tottenham Hotspur's poor start to the season. Speaking on talkSPORT, Austin argued that De Zerbi lacks the track record to turn around Tottenham's fortunes with the club sitting at the bottom of the table after five matches. Host Ade Oladipo echoed these concerns, describing the Italian manager as volatile and questioning whether the situation could be resolved.

Austin also claimed that Tottenham players are not giving full effort for De Zerbi, contrasting their commitment with Newcastle United's performance in August. Despite external criticism and media speculation regarding potential replacements, Tottenham CEO Vinai Venkatesham recently expressed confidence in De Zerbi during a Fan Advisory Board meeting, stating the team needs time to gel after significant squad changes.
