Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey could return to action at Bournemouth next weekend after tests showed his hamstring injury was not as serious as first thought

Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris has confirmed striker Brian Brobbey avoided serious injury after suffering a hamstring issue on international duty with the Netherlands. While Brobbey will miss Saturday's Premier League match against Brighton, tests showed the damage was not severe, making him a candidate to return next weekend against Bournemouth.
Midfielder Habib Diarra is also nearing a return from his own hamstring problem within a week, allowing Wilson Isidor to start in attack. However, defender Dan Ballard faces several weeks out after sustaining a medium-term injury during the international window.
