Calum Scanlon has revealed why Lewis Koumas' emergence for Liverpool and Wales has come as no surprise to those who know him best

Calum Scanlon stated that Lewis Koumas' rapid emergence for Liverpool and Wales comes as no surprise to those who worked alongside him. Scanlon, who is on loan at Cardiff City from Liverpool, explained that he spent years progressing through the Merseyside club's academy ranks with the 21-year-old attacker.
According to Scanlon, Koumas' relentless pressing and work ethic naturally caught the eye of Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola. Rather than sending Koumas out on loan, Iraola kept him in the first-team squad, where his intense approach has earned him regular senior opportunities for both club and country.
