According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, the San Jose Sharks have placed forward Brett Leason on waivers. The transaction suggests that forward Adam Gaudette, who began the season on the Sharks’ injured reserve, is nearing a return.
The San Jose Sharks have placed 27-year-old forward Brett Leason on waivers, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman. Leason signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Sharks during the offseason but did not appear in any of the team's first three games of the season. If he clears waivers, he is expected to join the AHL's San Jose Barracuda.
The roster move signals that forward Adam Gaudette is nearing a return from an upper-body injury sustained during training camp. Gaudette, an eight-year veteran who began the season on injured reserve, recorded 17 goals and 25 points in 66 games for San Jose last season.
