The New Zealand Kiwis have named a star-studded squad as they look to win their first Rugby League World Cup since 2008.
The New Zealand Kiwis have unveiled their squad for the upcoming Rugby League World Cup, highlighted by Newcastle Knights stars Kalyn Ponga and Dane Gagai switching international allegiance to represent New Zealand. Head coach Stacey Jones named the duo after eligibility rule changes enabled their selection, with Ponga set to make his international debut against Australia.
James Fisher-Harris retains the captaincy, leading a team featuring returning halfback Jahrome Hughes, Naufahu Whyte, and Erin Clark. Potential debutants Jacob Laban and Tanner Stowers-Smith were also selected as New Zealand targets its first World Cup title since 2008.
