Martin O'Neill said it would have been "poor" to walk out on Celtic as he explained it "did not take long" for him to rediscover his drive to lead the team following a brief period of uncertainty about his future.

Celtic manager Martin O'Neill confirmed his decision to remain at the club, stating that walking away would have been "poor" despite recent pressure. The 74-year-old had questioned his future following three straight defeats prior to the international break, including two losses against rivals Rangers. Speaking ahead of Sunday's league fixture against Motherwell, O'Neill explained that the break gave him time to reflect and quickly rediscover his motivation to defend the Scottish Premiership title.
Celtic remain two points clear at the top of the table. In squad news, winger Jota could return after nearly 18 months out with a cruciate ligament injury, while Chelsea loanee Landon Emenalo is preparing to join training. O'Neill also voiced sadness over the growing rift between the board and supporters, following the Green Brigade's announced match boycott.
