Everton have been put up for sale by owners The Friedkin Group less than two years after they completed their takeover of the club

The Friedkin Group has confirmed it is exploring new investment options for Everton, including the potential sale of a controlling interest. The decision comes less than two years after the American ownership group purchased a 99.5 percent stake from Farhad Moshiri in December 2024 for over £400 million. In an official club statement, TFG stated that following the completion of the new stadium, the time is right to consider the next chapter if the right buyer emerges.
Everton experienced a turbulent summer transfer window that saw key players like Iliman Ndiaye and Beto sold, leaving manager David Moyes with a squad of just 18 outfield players. Chairman Dan Friedkin has maintained a distant approach, having yet to attend a match at Goodison Park or Hill Dickinson Stadium. TFG pledged to continue supporting the club until suitable stewards are identified.
