Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager underwent minor surgery on Tuesday to address a bone spur in his right elbow. The procedure was initially revealed via an Instagram post by his wife and confirmed by reporters, following previous comments from president of baseball operations Chris Young that Seager had dealt with the issue for multiple months.
Despite battling back and elbow injuries that limited him to 102 games and a career-low 106 wRC+ in 2026, the procedure is not expected to affect Seager's availability for the 2027 season. The report also noted that third baseman Josh Jung and catcher Danny Jansen are anticipated to be ready for 2027 spring training following their own offseason medical issues.
