Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young told reporters last week that shortstop Corey Seager was dealing with a bone spur in his right elbow.
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager underwent minor surgery to address a bone spur in his right elbow, according to reports. President of baseball operations Chris Young noted Seager had played through the elbow injury for multiple months. The procedure took place on Tuesday and is not expected to impact his availability for the 2027 season.
Seager played in 102 games during the 2026 campaign after dealing with various injuries, finishing with a career-low 106 wRC+. Meanwhile, third baseman Josh Jung is not expected to need surgery for a fractured right hand, and catcher Danny Jansen had a bone growth removed from his hand, with all three players anticipated to be ready for Spring Training.
