Thunder rookie Aday Mara has been a preseason standout, and this could spell trouble for the Timberwolves.
Eamon Cassels argues that Oklahoma City Thunder rookie center Aday Mara poses significant matchup problems for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Selected with the 12th pick, the 7-foot-3 Mara impressed in his first two preseason games by averaging 17 points, 7.5 rebounds, and two blocks while shooting a perfect 15-for-15 from the field.
The writer believes Mara adds formidable interior depth alongside Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein, which could exploit Minnesota's limited frontcourt depth behind Rudy Gobert. Cassels notes that pairing Mara with Holmgren will challenge the Timberwolves on the glass and limit driving lanes, making Oklahoma City an even tougher postseason obstacle.
