The Story in 60 Seconds

The Nashville Predators have acquired defenseman Jayden Struble from the Montreal Canadiens, the team announced on Friday evening. In exchange for the 25-year-old left-handed defenseman, Montreal received a second-round draft pick originally belonging to the Vegas Golden Knights. The trade comes just one day after the two clubs faced each other on the ice.

Struble recorded two goals and 10 assists in 59 games for the Canadiens last season, alongside 58 penalty minutes. The trade provides head coach Andrew Brunette with additional defensive depth as Nashville navigates early-season struggles and a week-to-week injury to William Trudeau.
