Senators forward William Eklund, who left Thursday's win over the Flyers after taking a hit, will miss an "extended" period of time with an ankle injury.

Ottawa Senators forward William Eklund is set to miss an extended period due to an ankle injury, head coach Travis Green announced Friday. The 23-year-old was injured during Ottawa's 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday night following a hit from defenseman Simon Benoit. Eklund has recorded one goal and one assist across four games so far this season.
Coach Green stated that while there is no exact timeline for Eklund's return, he is expected back this season and likely will not require surgery. Green also noted that injured defensemen Jake Sanderson and Artem Zub are expected to rejoin the Senators within the coming days.
