San Jose Sharks rookie Macklin Celebrini will be a game-time decision for Saturday's game against the Edmonton Oilers as he recovers from a lower-body injury. Celebrini expressed optimism after completing back-to-back hard on-ice practice sessions on Thursday and Friday, skating for over an hour. He explained that although he pushed to play previously against the Dallas Stars, he accepted the recommendation of the Sharks' medical staff to sit out.
Celebrini noted that all health decisions are made collectively with team trainers, alongside advice from his father, Rick Celebrini, who serves as the director of sports medicine and performance for the Golden State Warriors. In addition to health matters, Celebrini commented on his recent GQ profile, praised Will Smith's transition to center, and commended defenseman Darnell Nurse's leadership following his overtime goal.
