Celtics have a Sam Hauser dilemma they can’t ignore this season

Hardwood Houdini's Matt John argues that the Boston Celtics face an impending dilemma regarding wing Sam Hauser this season. Strong preseason performances against the Cleveland Cavaliers from young wings Baylor Scheierman, Hugo Gonzalez, and Jordan Walsh showcase players with higher potential and more multifaceted skill sets. The writer notes this depth could eventually challenge Hauser's standing in head coach Joe Mazzulla's rotation.

While Hauser remains a proven elite shooter with strong two-man chemistry alongside franchise cornerstone Jayson Tatum, John suggests Boston could find it difficult to justify keeping him long-term if younger options prove their outside shooting. However, the writer emphasizes that Hauser's proven synergy with Tatum provides him with an advantage until other players replicate that impact.
