Cristiano Ronaldo returned to club football on Friday after a controversial international break with Portugal, scoring the opening goal in Al-Nassr’s 3-0 win over Diriyah in the Saudi Pro League.
Cristiano Ronaldo returned to club action on Friday, scoring the opening goal in Al-Nassr's 3-0 victory against Diriyah in the Saudi Pro League. The 41-year-old capitalized on a rebound midway through the first half to secure his 980th career goal. Al-Nassr doubled their advantage before half-time via Samu Costa, while Kingsley Coman added a third with 13 minutes remaining.
The match followed Ronaldo's departure from Portugal's national squad over a dispute with manager Jorge Jesus regarding playing time in the Nations League. The win moved Ange Postecoglou's Al-Nassr level on points with league leaders Al-Qadsiah after eight rounds.
