Indian javelin thrower Rohit Yadav won a bronze medal at the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, using a signed javelin gifted by Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra. Yadav turned to Chopra for help after discovering that his own preferred implement was bent during air transit following the National Inter State Senior Athletics Championships.
Chopra, who was sidelined from the competition due to an ankle ligament injury, sent one of his personal javelins to Yadav via a taxi service in Delhi. Yadav registered the equipment in Japan and produced a medal-winning throw of 84.35 meters, securing his first major international podium finish.
