Turki Alalshikh Proposes Summit to End Boxing’s Promotional Divisions

Saudi adviser Turki Alalshikh is calling for a meeting between boxing’s top promoters and executives, including Dana White, in an effort to end the conflicts that have long fragmented the sport and prevented major fights from happening.

Turki Alalshikh has publicly called for a summit between boxing’s most powerful figures, including Dana White, Eddie Hearn, Frank Warren, and DAZN executives. His stated goal is to broker a peace deal that ends the promotional conflicts that have long stalled major fights.

The Saudi adviser, who has become one of boxing’s primary financiers, announced his intentions to organize the high-stakes meeting. He outlined a clear objective to unify the sport’s warring factions. “I’ll do my best to do a meeting soon between my brothers Dana White, Nick Khan, Frank Warren, Eddie Hearn & my partners & friends DAZN to make peace, and revolution for boxing,” Alalshikh stated. The inclusion of UFC boss Dana White and TKO executive Nick Khan alongside established boxing promoters Hearn and Warren represents a significant shift in the sport’s power dynamics.

Alalshikh underscored the magnitude of his goal with a unique reference. “I hope I succeed & boxing fans see the white smoke rise from the chimney,” he said. This is an allusion to the Vatican tradition signaling the election of a new pope, indicating he seeks a definitive and universally accepted agreement. For decades, boxing has been defined by the inability of rival promoters and broadcasters to work together, leaving fans frustrated as potential super-fights went unmade. Alalshikh’s financial influence has already forced cross-promotional events, but this meeting aims for a more permanent structural change.

He also expressed a personal and pressing motivation for his efforts. “I want to do it before losing my memory. I’m afraid in 2028 or 2029 I’ll forget my name,” said Turki. The comment suggests a finite window in which he believes he can use his influence to reshape the sport. While the proposal has generated hope among fans, it also faces skepticism rooted in years of industry rivalries. Whether these powerful figures can find common ground remains the central question.
