Professional wrestler Hijo De Fishman was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter or negligent homicide following the death of referee Gerardo German Pineda during a wrestling event in Mineral de la Reforma, Mexico. Footage showed Fishman delivering a package piledriver on the 75-year-old referee, known as El Buho, during a match at the Deslealtades event. Pineda remained motionless on the floor and was pronounced dead by paramedics, though an official cause of death has not been released.

Following the incident, event promoter El Patron Espectaculos announced that Fishman had obtained his freedom through a compensatory agreement and reparation of damages. The promotion stated that their legal team worked directly with Pineda's family to reach the resolution, avoiding further legal proceedings. Pineda had spent nearly three decades officiating in the professional wrestling industry.
