Retired Canadian baseball star offered some simple advice to the struggling Toronto Blue Jays slugger: 'Watch your dad.'

Former MLB star Joey Votto suggested on Sportsnet's Blair and Barker show that Toronto Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. should study his Hall of Fame father's swing to resolve his timing issues. Votto argued that Guerrero needs to simplify his mechanics by using less body and letting the bat barrel do the work following a difficult 2026 season.
Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins agreed that Guerrero lost rhythm and confidence early in the year, expressing optimism that the upcoming offseason will allow the franchise star to reset his swing.
