Ironic, given that Joe Mazzulla got the night off, but his vision definitely showed up in the Boston Celtics' preseason debut! Boston put an emphasis on offensive rebounding, and it showed last night.

Hardwood Houdini's Matt John highlights that offensive rebounding was the defining feature of the Boston Celtics' 11-point preseason win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Despite head coach Joe Mazzulla resting and the team shooting 41.4% from the field, Boston gathered 21 offensive rebounds compared to Cleveland's six.
John argues that offensive rebounding serves as Mazzulla's strategic failsafe when outside shots are not falling. He notes that Boston dominated the glass using Luka Garza, Chris Cenac Jr., and Dillon Mitchell while primary centers Neemias Queta and Mitchell Robinson were held out.
