Mercedes driver George Russell suffered a scary crash on the opening lap of the rain-delayed Singapore Sprint. Russell had made a strong start from second to pass Max Verstappen for the lead at Turn 1, but spun at the final corner after touching a white line and applying power too early, hitting the pit wall.

Russell's car slid back across the Marina Bay circuit but was safely avoided by the remaining drivers.
