The Nashville Predators have placed defenseman William Trudeau on injured reserve due to an upper-body injury. Trudeau exited after the first period of the game against the Montreal Canadiens, logging 4:39 of ice time. The team expects the rookie defenseman to miss the next few weeks as a result of the undisclosed ailment.
Trudeau was claimed off waivers from the New York Rangers prior to the season and has appeared in three scoreless games for Nashville. His placement on injured reserve trims the Predators' active roster from eight defensemen, allowing the team to transition toward a standard lineup format.
