Some unwelcome news in Smashville this early in the season. On Friday, the Nashville Predators announced that defenseman William Trudeau has been placed on injured reserve.
The Nashville Predators announced on Friday that defenseman William Trudeau has been placed on injured reserve. The 23-year-old rookie is listed as week-to-week after sustaining an upper-body injury during the first period of Nashville's 5-2 victory against the Montreal Canadiens. Due to league injured reserve rules, Trudeau will not be eligible to return to action until at least October 17 against the St. Louis Blues.
Trudeau joined the Predators after being claimed off waivers from the New York Rangers on September 26. He had skated in three of Nashville's first four contests of the 2026-27 season, averaging 9:11 of ice time. Forward Mavrik Bourque was also injured during the same game with an upper-body issue as the Predators prepare to face the Ottawa Senators next.
