Rangers defender Olwethu Makhanya has been awarded the Scottish Premiership Player of the Month award for September. His manager, Derek McInnes, also secured the Manager of the Month honor as the club carried a six-game winning streak into an upcoming clash against Kilmarnock. Makhanya recently made his competitive international debut for South Africa following an impressive start to the campaign.
Despite earning the individual recognition, the 22-year-old center-back credited defensive partner Emmanuel Fernandez for his success. Makhanya emphasized that their strong relationship on and off the field balances their play, contributing to four consecutive clean sheets across all competitions.
