After nine years and 280 days, Matt Renshaw scores epic century to put Australia on top against South Africa and push his own case for a regular place.

Matt Renshaw produced a career-best innings of 190 to guide Australia to 390 all out against South Africa on day two of the first Test in Durban. Marking his first Test century in more than nine years, the left-hander rescued the tourists from 124-6 by anchoring crucial lower-order stands, notably with Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon.
Renshaw's 397-ball marathon ended shortly after tea, before Australia struck early to dismiss South African opener Ryan Rickelton for a duck. The innings reinforced Renshaw's bid for a permanent role in Australia's evolving batting lineup.
