The Story in 60 Seconds

Following the 2026 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, the USGA partnered with the Metropolitan Golf Association to assist four Suffolk County municipal facilities. Indian Island CC, Santapogue Creek Golf Course, Timber Point Golf Course, and West Sayville Golf Course are receiving agronomic expertise from the USGA Green Section to enhance course conditions.

The Green Section team visited the public courses to address specific issues including greens health, tree management, and rising sea levels.
