The Story in 60 Seconds

Tottenham Hotspur and forward Richarlison have reached an understanding after a fraught summer standoff that nearly involved legal action. According to Brazilian journalist Bruno Andrade, Spurs will not trigger the one-year extension option in the 29-year-old's contract and have agreed to facilitate a permanent transfer away from the club for a cut-price fee in the January transfer window.

Manager Roberto De Zerbi previously indicated that club hierarchy excluded Richarlison from the Premier League squad due to the player's behavior. Potential contract terminations by mutual agreement or for just cause have been abandoned by Richarlison's camp, and a return to Brazil has reportedly been ruled out after he rejected summer offers from Everton and Vasco Da Gama.
