The Story in 60 Seconds

The Baltimore Orioles have officially released 22-year-old right-handed pitching prospect Juan Duran, according to minor-league transaction records. Duran was signed by Baltimore in June 2023 out of the Dominican Republic but never advanced past the Dominican Summer League during his tenure with the organization.

Duran posted a 5.47 ERA in 2023 before improving to a 2.92 ERA across 17 appearances in 2024. However, persistent physical setbacks and a transfer to the 60-day injured list earlier this year stalled his progress, leading the club to clear a roster spot.
