Avalanche depth goaltender Trent Miner has now fully recovered from the undisclosed preseason injury that landed him on season-opening IR to start the season. Since he’s ready to play, he’s now on waivers, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reports (Twitter link).
The Colorado Avalanche have placed depth goaltender Trent Miner on waivers after his recovery from an undisclosed preseason injury, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman. The 25-year-old netminder started the season on injured reserve before being deemed ready to play.
Miner is in the final season of a two-year, two-way contract earning an NHL minimum salary of $850,000. If he clears waivers or is claimed by another team by Sunday afternoon, the Avalanche will clear a $168,229 dead cap charge, significantly boosting their salary cap space.
