Moises Caicedo and Jordan Henderson started together in midfield for the first time, providing crucial balance in Chelsea's 5-1 victory over Bournemouth on Saturday. Manager Xabi Alonso praised the duo for delivering stability behind an attacking trio of Joao Pedro, Cole Palmer, and Morgan Rogers, noting that their partnership brought much-needed defensive control to the Premier League side.
Henderson scored twice and provided an assist for Rogers, while Caicedo led all Chelsea players in tackles and pass completion before being substituted for Romeo Lavia. Chelsea signed Henderson on a free transfer from Brentford during the summer as part of an effort to add veteran experience, with Evanilson scoring Bournemouth's lone goal.
