Los Angeles Lakers minority owner Todd Boehly is part of an investment group pursuing a multibillion-dollar deal for international assets owned by Russian energy firm Lukoil, according to reports. The targeted assets reportedly encompass oil fields, refineries, and gas stations. Any final agreement would require official regulatory approval from both the United States government and the Kremlin, and it remains uncompleted.
The investment group also reportedly involves Middle Eastern investors connected to U.S. negotiators Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff. Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly discussed the proposed arrangement during a September meeting with Kushner and Witkoff. The report notes that incoming Lakers stakeholder Josh Kushner is not identified as a participant in the proposal.
