That’s his reality, at least until veteran goaltender Joonas Korpisalo returns from injured reserve.

Dylan Garand has taken over as the New York Rangers' starting goaltender less than two weeks after being placed on waivers. The 24-year-old is stepping into the primary role following a season-ending lower-body injury to starter Igor Shesterkin and with backup Joonas Korpisalo on injured reserve. Garand is set to make the fifth start of his NHL career on Sunday against the Vancouver Canucks.
Head coach Mike Sullivan stated the Rangers are unlikely to trade for an external goaltender, expressing confidence in Garand's capabilities. Korpisalo is expected to remain out for another month, leaving Garand with the net after he was initially recalled on October 1.
