Handed the captain's armband despite missing early chances, Solanke headed home a cross from Sandro Tonali to score his first Premier League goal since March.

Tottenham had fallen behind and had Rodrigo Bentancur sent off for headbutting Luke Shaw before mounting their comeback. Barlow notes that while Spurs have collected just three points from six games, De Zerbi viewed the team's spirited response with ten men as a vital spark for their season.
