Former Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Nate Newton criticized the current team for lacking identity and toughness following a 24-16 home defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Speaking on Cowboys Country, Newton argued that the current squad struggles under adversity compared to past eras. The loss dropped Dallas after they led 10-7 at halftime, surrendering 17 second-half points to a previously winless Tampa Bay team.
Tampa Bay dominated possession and ran for 241 yards against the Dallas defense. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott threw for 316 yards and a touchdown but suffered two costly interceptions. Both team owner Jerry Jones and head coach Brian Schottenheimer expressed deep disappointment with the performance, while Prescott acknowledged Tampa Bay outprepared them on the short week.
