The Story in 60 Seconds

Journalist Jacob Steinberg delivered a harsh assessment of West Ham United manager Nuno Espírito Santo and recruitment chief Nils Koppen. Steinberg argued on social media that, aside from captain Jarrod Bowen, none of the current squad members are good enough to regularly start in the Premier League if the club secures promotion.

The criticism comes after West Ham dropped out of the Championship automatic promotion spots following consecutive draws. Under Koppen, West Ham underwent a 22-player overhaul featuring nine signings for £38m, but Nuno faces mounting pressure over the team's passive tactics and a return of just four wins from nine matches.
