The Ravens paid a hefty price to acquire center Cam Jurgens from the Eagles this week, a move that came with significant risk given his 2025 back surgery that could still have lingering effects.
The Baltimore Ravens completed center Cam Jurgens' physical exam in Philadelphia before officially finalizing a permanent trade with the Eagles. Baltimore sent a doctor and athletic trainer on Wednesday morning to evaluate Jurgens, who underwent back surgery in 2025. After he successfully passed the medical evaluation, the clubs announced the deal without a "pending physical" designation.
The cautious procedure was jointly agreed upon by Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta and Eagles general manager Howie Roseman. The approach followed Baltimore's voided trade for Maxx Crosby in March due to a failed physical, as well as Jaire Alexander's unexpected retirement after being dealt to Philadelphia last season.
