The Boston Bruins defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 5-1 on Saturday afternoon at TD Garden to conclude their three-game homestand. Boston pulled away by scoring three goals during the third period to improve their record to 4-2-0 on the season. Pavel Zacha opened the scoring in the first period, while Mason Lohrei, Marat Khusnutdinov, Casey Mittelstadt, and Fraser Minten also netted goals for the Bruins.
Goaltender Jeremy Swayman stopped 14 of 15 shots to earn his fourth victory, conceding only a third-period power-play goal to Philadelphia's Porter Martone. Dan Vladar took the loss in net for the winless Flyers. Boston now embarks on a four-game road trip beginning Tuesday night against the San Jose Sharks.
