Max Verstappen hailed Red Bull Ford Powertrains' maiden Formula 1 victory as incredible after winning a chaotic Bahrain Grand Prix held at Sepang. Starting from pole position, Verstappen overcame an initial power deficit and passes by Mercedes drivers Kimi Antonelli and George Russell in wet conditions to claim his and Red Bull's first win of the 2026 season.
The triumph marked Verstappen's 72nd career victory, extending his streak to winning at least one race in 10 consecutive seasons alongside Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton. Verstappen noted the emotional milestone for the Milton Keynes engine program following a difficult start to the campaign, while his father Jos celebrated on the podium.
