The Boston Bruins executed Marco Sturm's pregame message to perfection against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday afternoon.

The Boston Bruins followed head coach Marco Sturm's pregame message by defeating the winless Philadelphia Flyers 5-1 on Saturday afternoon. Pavel Zacha opened the scoring in the first period, and Mason Lohrei added a second goal in the second frame. Goaltender Jeremy Swayman faced only eight shots through the first two periods as Boston maintained control before closing out the contest with three additional third-period goals.
Porter Martone scored Philadelphia's lone goal on a power play in the final period. The victory improved Boston's record to 4-2-0 ahead of a four-game West Coast road trip against the San Jose Sharks, Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Kings, and Dallas Stars. Top defenseman Charlie McAvoy is set to return after completing his season-opening six-game suspension.
