Lando Norris has publicly apologized to McLaren after colliding with team-mate Oscar Piastri during the Singapore Grand Prix sprint race. The incident took place on the final lap at Turn 5, causing Piastri to retire and dropping Norris to eighth place. McLaren team principal Andrea Stella called the clash unacceptable, prompting Norris to take full responsibility for letting down his team.
Norris recovered on Sunday to finish fourth in the main race behind Kimi Antonelli, despite battling Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton. The Briton admitted fourth was the maximum achievable result, while expressing pessimism about McLaren's pace ahead of the upcoming race in Austin.
