Jake Ferguson is doing more harm than good every time the Dallas Cowboys call his number.

The Landry Hat writer Jason Kandel argues that the Dallas Cowboys' decision to give tight end Jake Ferguson a four-year, $52 million extension with $20 million guaranteed has backfired. Kandel contends the deal was made partly to prove Jerry Jones pays players following the trade of Micah Parsons, but Ferguson's on-field regression has made the contract look increasingly disastrous.
Following a loss to Tampa Bay where Ferguson dropped two passes including a deflection leading to a game-sealing interception, the article highlights his eight fumbles since 2024. Kandel calls for the Cowboys to reduce Ferguson's snaps behind options like Brevyn Spann-Ford and suggests the team consider cutting ties this coming offseason.
