1. FC Köln will be without Ellyes Skhiri for an extended period after the midfielder suffered an ankle injury during Sunday’s 2-1 Rhine derby victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach.

1. FC Köln midfielder Ellyes Skhiri faces an extended spell on the sidelines after sustaining an ankle injury during Sunday's Rhine derby. The 31-year-old Tunisia international was hurt following a challenge by Borussia Mönchengladbach's Florian Neuhaus just before halftime and was stretchered off. An MRI scan later confirmed the injury, though the club has not yet set a specific recovery timeline.
Köln went on to defeat Gladbach 2-1 courtesy of Said El Mala's second-half winner, but Skhiri's absence poses a significant challenge. Having returned to Köln from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer, Skhiri is now set to miss Friday's upcoming Bundesliga fixture against his former club.
