Tyler Mahle has earned a prolonged stint with the Braves. However, he will be a hot commodity after his impressive second-half with Atlanta.

Writer Steven Teal suggests the Atlanta Braves could re-sign free agent starting pitcher Tyler Mahle to a potential two-year, $40 million contract featuring a third-year club option. After joining Atlanta from the Giants at the trade deadline, Mahle underwent a dramatic resurgence, logging a 1.99 ERA across nine regular-season starts and a 1.35 ERA in 13.1 postseason innings.
Teal argues that while a $25 million annual salary comparable to Nathan Eovaldi's contract might be an ambitious benchmark, a two-year commitment offers minimal risk for Atlanta. Mahle earned approximately $8 million in 2026, meaning the projected deal would represent a significant raise following his standout performance.
