The Hurricanes' franchise centerman is dominating the ice with elite puck possession and multi-situation scoring, propelling Carolina’s win streak despite missing key linemate Seth Jarvis.

Carolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho has made a red-hot start to the 2026-27 NHL season, recording five goals and nine points in his first six games. Aho leads the team in both categories and has scored at even strength, on the power play, and shorthanded. His strong individual play has fueled a five-game personal point streak and propelled Carolina to a four-game winning streak.
Head coach Rod Brind'Amour praised Aho's energy and sharp play, noting that the forward typically starts seasons more slowly. Aho has accomplished this production without regular linemate Seth Jarvis, who is sidelined following offseason shoulder surgery, while also leading the team in shots on goal and faceoff winning percentage.
