Borussia Dortmund captain Emre Can is reportedly set to remain sidelined until next year.

Borussia Dortmund captain Emre Can is reportedly set to remain sidelined until 2027 as he continues his recovery from a torn cruciate ligament sustained in February. According to Bild, the midfielder will not feature for the club again this year, with a return to team training not expected until after the winter break.
During his rehabilitation, the 48-time Germany international also underwent surgery on his adductors to resolve recurring issues. Can previously signed a contract extension in March that keeps him committed to Dortmund through the end of the 2026/27 campaign.
