Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels declined to directly address a critical time management error following an overtime tie against the New York Giants. With no timeouts remaining, Daniels was tackled in bounds on a pass play as time expired, eliminating Washington's opportunity to score. When asked if the team discussed stopping the clock in the huddle, Daniels repeatedly deflected by stating they just had to be better.
The contest marked Daniels' return to the field after recovering from a dislocated elbow suffered in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys. The clock blunder came shortly after a fumble by Cam Skattebo gave Washington possession, prompting criticism from fans and analysts over Daniels' decision not to throw the ball away.
