Phil Parkinson admitted it felt like "starting the season again" as Wrexham were forced to settle for a point against Derby County on their return to Championship action.
Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson felt returning from an extended international break felt like starting the season over following a 1-1 Championship draw against Derby County at Pride Park. After going without a match for three weeks, Parkinson was pleased to earn an away point despite acknowledging his squad can perform much better.
Derby opened the scoring in the ninth minute courtesy of a strike from Sammie Szmodics. Wrexham found an equalizer in the 88th minute when midfielder Ollie Rathbone capitalized on Kieffer Moore's knock down from a Danny Imray cross, rewarding the squad's persistent second-half pressure.
