Viking FK vs. Bayern Munich preview: Team news & predicted lineups

Bayern Munich travel to face Champions League debutants Viking FK on matchday 2 of the 2026/27 campaign. Vincent Kompany's side opened their European run with a victory over Bodø/Glimt, while Viking lost to Stuttgart in their tournament opener. Bayern enter the fixture seeking consistency after a 2-2 draw with Augsburg, having traveled early to adjust to the cold weather and artificial pitch in Norway.

Jamal Musiala is the only confirmed absentee for the visitors. Despite an early error against Augsburg, 40-year-old goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is reportedly likely to retain his starting spot over Jonas Urbig to rebuild confidence. Meanwhile, Konrad Laimer returns to the squad after the birth of his child and is expected to step in at right-back.
